Fractional CO2

SUMMARY INFO

Fractional CO2 Lasers are the most traditional and basic lasers in Dermatology. They have replaced diathermy and cryotherapy in benign skin lesions. They are mostly used in treating warts, papillomas, seborrheic keratosis, genital warts, xanthelasma, neurofibromas, pyogenic granuloma, pigmentation, intradermal nevi, small hemangiomas, and generally all benign skin lesions.

In a Fractional Laser, the laser beam can also be transmitted through a scanner which is a device used to further control the delivery of energy in smaller beams. The scanner regulates the configuration of energy delivered onto the skin, by causing micro-injuries to the epidermis to stimulate fibroblasts so that they produce collagen and elastin. The body starts its healing process, is stimulated to replace the injured tissue with a newer one, and thus the skin looks brighter, firmer and younger.

By making use of the Scanner, Fractional CO2 can be used in regeneration, acne scarring, photoaging, fine lines and wrinkles, stretch marks, discolorations. Fractional CO2 can be successfully combined with autologous mesotherapy PRP, as growth factors increase significantly the effectiveness of the treatment.
